AAA’s array of automotive services provides peace of mind for members on the road

Routine automotive maintenance isn’t a priority for most motorists until they hear a knock from under the hood, but AAA offers a range of automotive services to help you protect and maintain your vehicle before you need roadside assistance.

October is Car Care Month, which is a good time to remind motorists of AAA’s Approved Auto Repair (AAR) program. Each AAA-approved facility is continually monitored to ensure it meets demanding quality service criteria. The program can help members find a trusted, reliable professional who can take care of all their automotive maintenance and repair needs.

Adding to a member’s peace of mind is that AAR shops offer free maintenance inspections with any paid service, a written estimate, a warranty and dispute resolution. To locate an approved facility in your area, call (800) 222-7623 ext. 6821 or visit www.AAA.com/autorepair.

Also, AAA Battery Service is a convenient solution to the problem of dead or weak automotive batteries. Through the program, which is available in select areas, AAA technicians can test your car’s battery at the scene of the breakdown to determine if it needs to be replaced.

If your car needs it, our technicians can install a battery while you wait. Members receive discounted prices on AAA batteries and each comes with a nationwide, three-year free replacement warranty. Call (800) 222-7623 ext. 6818 or visit www.AAA.com/battery.

As your car ages, the risk and cost of unexpected mechanical repairs will rise. If your car has less than 100,000 miles and is under 10 years old, you may be eligible for the protection of an extended service contract through AAA.

With four different plan levels, you can choose coverage and terms (months and miles) that match your vehicle and driving habits. The contracts are good at any bonafide repair facility. For a free quote, call (800) 222-7623 ext. 6820 or click on www.AAA.com/warranty.

AAA Plus provides added member benefits

As a AAA member, you depend on AAA to be there when a flat tire leaves you stranded or you want a discount on a hotel stay, and when you upgrade your AAA membership to AAA Plus, you’ll be able to count on AAA for even more.

AAA Plus extends the value of a AAA Classic membership to include more money-saving benefits and more extensive services, especially vital automotive services to protect you on the road. One highlight is that towing mileage is extended up to 100 driving miles, a dramatic increase from the AAA Classic limit of three driving miles. One tow could save you hundreds of dollars.

In addition, if you run out of fuel, AAA will deliver a limited amount of fuel free of charge, enabling you to reach the nearest service station. AAA Plus members also receive up to a $100 reimbursement for locksmith services for when your keys are lost, broken or locked in the trunk, for instance. The lockout allowance is double the amount provided for Classic members.

The amount for legal fee reimbursement for Plus members also is doubled to $1,800 from $900 for legal defense relating to a not-guilty plea on certain traffic violations.

If your vehicle needs emergency extrication, which can be difficult for one tow truck, a AAA Plus membership provides for an additional truck and driver for up to one hour free of charge.

With passports being required for more destinations these days, travelers will appreciate that passport photos are free for AAA Plus members.

All of the services and benefits add up for AAA Plus, making it worth the extra $27 fee in addition to your Classic membership. For recreational vehicle owners, AAA Plus/RV extends your AAA Plus benefits to cover motor homes, pickup trucks with campers, travel trailers (including fifth wheel), motorcycles, camping trailers, snowmobile trailers and boat trailers (out of water). Cover-age is not provided for horse/ livestock/utility trailers.

At your next membership renewal, upgrade to AAA Plus or AAA Plus/RV for even more peace of mind on the road. For details, call (800) 222-7623, visit a AAA service office or click on www.AAA.com.
