AAA assures your satisfaction at hotels with inspections, member guarantee

To help travelers find the right accommodations to meet their expectations, AAA peeks under the beds and checks out the bathrooms of thousands of hotels and motels nationwide, and then it goes a step further to ensure members’ peace of mind with a satisfaction guarantee.

Since 1937, AAA has been inspecting hotels to help members find lodging options that fit their needs. After AAA’s inspectors give a hotel the stamp of approval as a AAA Approved establishment, they also assign it a rating on a scale of one Diamond to five Diamonds. The rating isn’t a measure of quality, since cleanliness, comfort and safety are required at every level. Instead, the rating is a description of the level of services and amenities offered.

At the lower end of the Diamond rating spectrum are no-frills hotels that offer few guest services, and in the middle are properties that offer varying levels of upgraded decor, facilities and services to enhance the guest experience. At the high end of the spectrum are establishments that offer lots of pampering and amenities.

In addition to rating accommodations, AAA has partnered with many hotel chains to offer members valuable discounts, in some cases up to 15 percent off. Some of these hotels include top names in the industry, such as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Best Western, Sheraton, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn and more.

When members stay at these preferred properties, they can trust that their lodging experience will be what they expected. And if it’s not, the AAA Assured Stay satisfaction guarantee will help ensure any problems will be resolved.

Under the guarantee, if the hotel cannot resolve a member complaint, the hotel will refund the member’s room rate and tax for the night relevant to the complaint. The member must bring the complaint to the hotel’s attention during the stay and provide the hotel an opportunity to reasonably correct the problem without the need to refund the rate. If still not satisfied, the member must have receipts and copies of written confirmation and proof of payment, and the request for refund must be placed within 30 days from the date of the stay.

VIN Etch can deter theft

As an effective theft deterrent, the Club will offer window etching of your vehicle’s VIN (vehicle identification number) at several AAA offices this spring.

The cost for the service is $30 for AAA members and $40 for non-members, including six etchings per car. AAA offers discounts on insurance for VIN Etching.

Call 1-800-AAA-ROAD ext. 6821 to make appointments at least 48 hours in advance of the below dates. Please have your VIN number handy when calling for appointments.
