Road trips are smooth with AAA

Sometimes, you just have to answer the call of the open road. Remember to bring along this number to help you find hotels and Hertz car rentals at great prices: 866-AAA-SAVE (866-222-7283).

Receive the best possible rates at AAA’s preferred lodging partners: Best Western®; Hilton, including Hampton Inn® and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts®; Marriott® Hotels, including Renaissance®; and Starwood® Hotels, including Sheraton® and Westin® brands.

Is Orlando on your vacation radar? Consider the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort (pictured above). A recent $26 million renovation redesigned the pool areas, all 490 guestrooms, dining options, and more. Check out the new 27 Palms Pool Club. See a slideshow of the resort.

Pack peace of mind with travel insurance

Whether you’re planning a trip of a lifetime or travel internationally on a regular basis for business or pleasure, a good travel insurance plan will cover you for virtually any unexpected contingency.

From travel delays due to bad weather or lost luggage to a medical emergency, help can be just a phone call away.

The world of travel is an exciting yet unpredictable place. Have you thought what you would do if:

  • you had planned and paid for a trip to Europe, but received news of a job loss.
  • you had to cancel a trip due to illness.
  • a hurricane forces you to evacuate your resort, hotel, or cruise ship.
  • your bag was lost and your medication was in it.
  • your wallet and passport were stolen.
  • you had a medical emergency in a foreign country.

Protect your travel investment, then relax; you can concentrate on having a good time and not be concerned about things outside your control.

For instance, with AAA’s Travel Protection Plan, available through Allianz Global Assistance, if you have to cancel a vacation due to the loss of employment through no fault of your own, you would be eligible to receive up to 100 percent of your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs, up to $20,000, if you meet the criteria.

Will your medical insurance be any good overseas? Check with your plan before you travel, but generally, most individual or employer-sponsored group health insurance plans offer limited protection, such as a trip to the emergency room. Medicare doesn’t cover overseas care.

AAA members have access to emergency medical insurance while traveling abroad. Through Allianz Global Assistance, you can be covered in the case of a medical emergency–up to a certain amount, depending on the plan you select–and receive help with emergency transportation costs.

A trip to Europe, South America, Asia, or any other foreign destination can cost thousands of dollars. For the price of a night out at a fine restaurant, you can cover your travel investment and not worry about anything–except what’s on the menu for dinner at your hotel.

Get information about AAA’s Travel Protection Plan through your AAA Travel agent. Visit the nearest AAA Travel office or call (800) 453-6122 to find an agent near you.
