AAA Prescription Savings supports cancer awareness

The statistics about breast cancer, the second-most common kind of cancer in women, can be daunting. About one in eight women born today in the United States will get breast cancer at some point, and more than 80 percent of women who develop breast cancer don’t have a strong family history of the disease.

The encouraging news, however, is that many women can survive breast cancer if it’s found and treated early.

  • If you are a woman age 40 to 49, talk with your doctor about when to start getting mammograms and how often to get them.
  • If you are a woman age 50 to 74, be sure to get a mammogram every two years. You may choose to get them more often.

Talk to a doctor about your risk for breast cancer, especially if a close family member had breast or ovarian cancer, and about how often to get mammograms.

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, AAA Prescription Savings is offering AAA members a free Breast Cancer Awareness tote bag, Oct. 1–Nov. 30, 2014. Simply request information about the AAA Prescription Savings Program by visiting AAA.com/prescriptions to receive your free gift.

AAA Prescription Savings, accepted at nine out of 10 locations nationwide, saves members an average of 24 percent on medications.
