AAA Prescription Savings supports heart health

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women, so to prevent its onset and increase awareness of its effects, AAA Prescription Savings is participating in American Heart Month in February.

To lower your risk of developing heart disease, you can make healthy changes, including watching your weight, quitting smoking, controlling cholesterol, and drinking alcohol in moderation. Controlling and preventing risk factors also is important for people who already have heart disease.

Exercise plays an important part of a healthy lifestyle. From Feb. 1–March 31, to encourage AAA members to get out and walk, members will receive a free pedometer when requesting AAA Prescription Savings information at www.AAA.com/prescriptions. AAA members save an average of 24 percent on medications at nine out of 10 locations nationwide with AAA Prescription Savings.

The offer of one pedometer per household is good Feb. 1–March 31 or while supplies last. Allow 3 to 6 weeks for delivery. This is not insurance. Savings are only available at participating locations.

Get a free hearing exam

As you work on your resolutions for 2015, don’t forget that taking care of your hearing health is just as important as planning to improve your physical health.

Hearing loss can sneak up on you. Start your year off right with a hearing exam to find out the state of your hearing and the options you have to help correct any potential hearing loss.

AAA members can get their hearing checked for free (a $119 value) with Connect Hearing Centers. Members also can save on select hearing aids.

To schedule your free hearing exam at one of their more than 2,000 locations nationwide, simply call (800) AAA-HEAR (800-222-4327).

Spruce up your home in the new year and save

When cold weather chases us inside, we’ll often assess our home for projects that need our attention.

If there’s a home improvement project you’ve identified, AAA’s new Home Improvement & Repair Network may have a contractor who can help.

AAA offers prescreened network contractors who will provide timely and fair estimates for your job. Managed by Contractor Connection(SM), these workers can help with remodeling, painting, flooring installation, roofing, siding, and more. Click on AAA.com/HomeProject for a referral.

Are you more of a do-it-yourself person? AAA still can help you save on home improvement purchases through the online Discount & Rewards WOWPoints program. Paired with online savings, you can get double and triple WOWPoints for the purchases you make from your favorite brands. For more information, visit AAA.com/discounts.
