Avoid roadside trouble with free inspections

As the average age of vehicles on American roads is rising, now at a record 11.5 years old, the potential for breakdowns and repairs is growing as well.

Vehicle maintenance becomes more important as vehicles age, so to help members avoid roadside trouble, participating AAA Approved Auto Repair (AAR) facilities are offering members a free 40-point vehicle inspection through March 31. To help pinpoint any problems, the inspections include a look at the brakes, battery, fluids, belts, hoses, tire pressure, and more.

Maintaining your car is vital for your safety, yet a AAA survey found that 35 percent of Americans have skipped or delayed service or repairs that were recommended by a mechanic or specified by the factory maintenance schedule.

AAA’s Approved Auto Repair program includes 8,000 facilities across North America. Once a shop meets AAA’s high standards, including certifications, technical training, cleanliness, insurance requirements, and background checks, it becomes part of the AAR program and is re-inspected annually and monitored for customer satisfaction.

By selecting an AAR facility, members receive 24-month/24,000-mile warranty, discounts on repairs, AAA assistance with dispute resolutions, and more.

To find a participating shop near you for the free inspections, an $80 value, visit or call (844) 256-7232.
