RULE 10.4 - INVESTIGATIONS
The following are primary
information sources which will be used by the Underwriting Department
to develop facts about the risk. This information is used for the purpose
of determining desirability and proper classification.
1) Consumer
Report
Any
written, oral or other communication of any information by a consumer
reporting agency bearing on a consumer’s credit worthiness, credit
standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal
characteristics or mode of living which is used or expected to the
used or collected in whole or in part for the purpose of serving as
a factor in establishing the consumer’s eligibility for insurance.
A consumer report shall also mean a credit score or insurance score
derived from the application of a mathematical formula to any data
contained in a consumer report.
2) Building
Inspections
A report requested from
a professional reporting company which includes such information as condition
of dwelling, upkeep of premises, identification of any special hazards,
verification of dwelling size and construction and an estimate of value.
