RULE 25.1 - CONSTRUCTION
TYPE
RULE 25.1A -
CONSTRUCTION TYPES - DEFINED
1) Frame - The
exterior walls are made of wood or other combustible materials, including
wood-iron clad, stucco or wood, or plaster on combustible supports.
2) Masonry Veneer
- The exterior walls are made of combustible materials veneered with brick
or stone.
3) Masonry -
The exterior walls are constructed of masonry materials such as adobe,
brick, concrete, gypsum block, hollow concrete block, stone, tile or similar
materials. The floors and roof are made of combustible materials. (Disregard
floors resting directly on the ground.)
4) Aluminum Siding
- The exterior walls are made of frame construction and covered with aluminum,
vinyl or plastic siding. Rate as Frame.
5) Mixed Masonry
and Frame - A combination of both frame and masonry construction.
When the exterior walls (including gables) are made of frame construction
exceeding 33 1/3% of the total exterior wall area, rate as Frame. Otherwise,
rate as Masonry Veneer or Masonry.
6) Modular Home
- The exterior walls are assembled in a factory and transported to the
home site in sections. The home is assembled on a concrete slab or on
concrete walls if the home has a basement. The finished home has the appearance
of a construction Class A/B to B. This construction type is eligible for
Premier or Premier Select policies only.
