RULE 25.1B - CONDOMINIUM/TOWNHOUSE
OR ROWHOUSE - DEFINED
1) Condominium
Condominiums are not acceptable in this program.
An individually owned
residence attached to many similar units which share a common exterior
and roof surface such that no separate or specific exterior surface
is owned or maintained by the individual condominium owner. The exterior
surfaces and mechanical system are owned and insured via group ownership
of the actual building by means of a condominium association. The structure
resembles an apartment building.
2) Townhouse
or Rowhouse
Townhouses and Rowhouses are not acceptable in this program unless the entire building is owned by the insured.
One of a row of houses
connected by common side walls where the individual owner of the unit
owns and maintains all exterior surfaces including the roof surface.
Generally, the units are connected by a firewall which extends several
feet above and through the roof separating the unit from the adjoining
units.
