RULE 25.6B - PROTECTIVE DEVICE DISCOUNT (CO 04 16)

Applies to: Premier - YES, Premier Plus - YES, Premier Select - YES,
Premier Condo - YES, Premier Renters - YES

Policies written on dwellings having approved and properly maintained installations of deadbolts, smoke detectors, burglar alarms and fire alarms are eligible for the Protective Device Discount.

The discount is calculated by adding the discount percent assigned to each protective device together, then multiplying the base premium by the total discount percent.

The maximum allowable discount is 15%.

* Required - The Premier Plus base premiums reflect the required existence of smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.

** Required - The Premier Renters base premiums reflect the required existence of recommended number of smoke detectors and deadbolt locks on all apartment unit entrances.

DEFINITIONS:
1) Local Alarm means an alarm that produces a sound outside the dwelling.
2) Detector means an alarm that produces a sound inside the dwelling.
3) Central Alarm means an alarm that electronically reports to an alarm company or emergency dispatch center.
Proof of installation and activation is required.

Endorsement CO 04 16 - Premises Alarm or Fire Protection System will be attached to the policy.
